History of the Columbarium
Discussions started over 5 years ago
Suspended due to the COVID pandemic
A committee of six members was formed
Devotion to Saint Therese of Lisieux
The naming of the columbarium was decided early in the planning process
Many parishioners have a special devotion to Saint Thérèse
A shrine was already dedicated to Saint Thérèse on parish property
Annual devotion – Oct. 1, 2023
What is a Columbarium?
Columbarium
A series of burial vaults (niches) in a wall or structure
Designed to hold cremated remains in urn(s)
A niche is where the urn(s) are placed and securely locked
Planning for 120 niches
The approximate size is 12 X 12 X 12
Two urns per niche
The granite faceplate will be engraved similar to a cemetery headstone
